The Maryland Turfgrass Fund was initiated by the Maryland Turfgrass Council in 1997 in order to promote and enhance the turfgrass research, teaching, and extension programs of the University of Maryland Institute of Applied Agriculture and the U.M. Dept. of Natural Resource Sciences & Landscape Architecture.
The MTC endowed the fund through the University of Maryland Foundation with an opening contribution of $100,000 in 1997. MTC has since provided three additional contributions of $25,000 in 1998, 2000, and 2002.
Now, through additional individual contributions and interest earned on its investments, the fund has grown to over $205,000.
The Maryland Turfgrass Council is committed to developing this fund through continued financial support, and by increasing awareness of the Fund by turfgrass professionals, associations, and businesses in Maryland who will be the ultimate recipients of the programs it supports.
Maryland Turfgrass Fund Sponsorship Program
The Maryland Turfgrass Council invites your participation in our first campaign to support the Maryland Turfgrass Fund. This new program has five contribution levels so individuals as well as large corporate supporters may participate. All sponsors will be permanently recorded in a special section of this website, and will receive other unique MTC privileges.

Commemorative Brick Program To Support The Turf Industry
Here's an easy way for golf courses, companies, and individuals to make a contribution and give permanent recognition for yourself or a special person: Purchase a brick through the Commemorative Brick Program!
We are offering 4" x 8" and 8" x 8" bricks which will be engraved with your message and installed at Paint Branch Facility in a special ceremony. All funds go to the Maryland Turfgrass Fund in support of turf research, education, and industry assistance.
